“I felt a strong urge to correct some of the negative reviews complaining about the handle melting when heating this kettle on a gas range, claims which I find unfair to the manufacturer and quite frankly angering. As with any other type of plastic, if you burn the handle of this kettle with a live flame, it will melt. If you do not burn the handle of this kettle with a live flame, it will not melt. Thus far, I am extremely satisfied with this kettle, which not only looks amazing, but offers excellent flow restriction and very fine control when pouring. It is a beautiful gem in my morning ritual, which has been considerably enhanced since receiving the Stagg. It is designed for pour-over coffee brewing, and works perfectly for this purpose.
