“I bought the 5 gallon Big Mouth to ferment sauerkraut and pickles - i ferment only in glass. The glass is thick and I wasn't worried about it shattering or cracking. My kraut bubbled over a couple times in the first week and the lid off-gassed just fine on its own and remained sealed after.
