Insightful Reviews
We've curated some of the most helpful comments and reviews from people all over the world. Read what they had to say:
“So I bought this kettle before moving into my dorm in 1st year of university. I read the reviews and expected this kettle to last about a year, which was fine with me as i expected to move after a year to a better place anyways. Fast foward to 3 years later, and my little green beaut is still going strong. She still warms up my water mutliple times a day and shows no signs of slowing down.” — Arial
“I'm now at more than 2.5 years with this. I use it 2-3 times per day every day and there's zero issues. EDIT: 10 months later and it's still fantastic. Absolutely no issues to report. As I mentioned in my original review, a little citric acid in the water cleans it up real nice. I bought this to replace a 1.8L Mueller glass unit that was more expensive, extraordinarily loud (almost like a jet engine), and the lid failed after 9 months (failing hinge - it was hard to open and close). It's hard to beat $15. It's pretty quiet even at a full boil and I like that the lid opens to a full 90*. It boils quick enough for me - I haven't done any real comparison or timed it. It definitely looks a little cheap being that it's all shiny black plastic instead of glass but I wonder if that helps with keeping the noise down. For people complaining about discoloration in the bottom of the kettle, it's perfectly normal due to the minerals in water and has nothing to do with this specific kettle. It shouldn't cause any problems and won't change the taste of the water. To get rid of it, just get yourself some citric acid. Throw a little bit in the kettle with water, turn it on for a boil, dump it, and rinse thoroughly. Really not a big deal.” — Nick
“I purchased this kettle for quickly boiling water at work. Unfortunately, though it does boil water quickly and the design is good, there is a strong plastic taste to the water. I tried soaking the interior with vinegar twice for 5 hours as well as washing and soaking in soap water but nothing removed the taste. I also had others taste the water to make sure that it was not just something to do with my taste buds but they all tasted the plastic as well. I am returning and purchasing an all stainless steel kettle instead.” — Sam
