“It works very well to boil water fast. There are markings on the actual glass that shows the minimum and maximum water levels to fill it up, so that it doesn't boil over, so that was a nice feature. This doesn't have the bells and whistles, so if you're looking for something high-tech, this may not work for you. This is a simple kettle that works!!! You fill it up, turn it on, it lights up a pretty blue color and will turn off once the water has reached the boiling point (takes a few minutes, very fast). Since I use it mainly for myself, I find that filling it up to the minimum level is enough water for my cup of tea or pour over coffee, in case you are wondering. Also, use filtered water, otherwise, you'll get mineral deposits along the bottom if you use tap (I use water from my Brita pitcher). The best way to clean it is to use 1 part water, 1 part vinegar, to remove the mineral deposits. By using filtered water, there's less cleaning involved. I recommend not submerging it in water to clean.” — Leo

“Probably one of the best purchases I've made! My husband and I were constantly boiling water on the stove for our coffee and tea and I wanted an electric kettle for the longest time. You can also use it for oatmeal or ramen noodles too. It is the perfect size for the 2 of us. Filling it up to max line is the perfect amount for pur large french press for coffee. I also really appreciate the safety features, it shuts off once it starts boiling. Some people in previous reviews have complained that it is too loud, but honestly our keurig is definitely louder when its warming up. It is great for the price as well. Love it. **update** I did start seeing the calcium deposits some reviews have mentioned, and we do have very hard water.
