“I didn't look at the Secura seriously at first, because from the outside it looked to be made of plastic. But when I read further, I saw that internally it's all stainless steel, and the plastic actually creates a double wall which protects people from mistakenly touching it while hot, great for using around students. It was safe for both drinking (no plastic) and carrying (plastic!) plus the size was perfect for me and the price was good, so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did - one of those times when I feel like I made the best decision. For starters, it came very quickly - I got it the very next day, fabulous. I also appreciated that it was packed securely but without waste. Now that I've used it, I can say I'm even more pleased than I expected. It's light weight, easy to carry around, and the double wall keeps the water hot much longer than my previous stainless steel kettle. The wide lid opens easily and makes it both easy to fill and easy to clean. After reading thousands of reviews on the many kettles available, I settled on this one. So far I have no complaints. I have no tarnish looking marks on the interior that some reviewers noted, and wonder if their formation depends on what's in your local water, or if you dump it and keep the lid open until it is dry. I got the white and I really love the look of it, and how quickly it boils water. I will agree with others that the base should be heavier. “I bought this tea kettle 1 year and 5 months ago and I'm very pleased to say it has held up very well. It gets used 2 to 4 times a day and is still going strong. I wanted something made of stainless steel on the inside that wouldn't rust. So I did a lot of research and this brand had many good reviews. It's a simple design without a lot of bells and whistles. So if you want a kettle that heats water reliably and consistently. This is the one for you. . It's also easy to clean. We use Ice Mountain bottled spring water in it and only have to clean it once in a while. With this water it takes a very long time for build up to develop. We used to use a different brand and after just one use it left a powdery film in the pot. To clean it all you have to do is boil a cycle of half water, half vinegar solution. Followed by a cycle of just plain water so your next cup of coffee or tea doesn't taste like vinegar. We also leave the lid open right after we use it and the water inside evaporates very quickly from the heat. I think that may be why it doesn't get rusty inside.
