The City of Newport Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Utilities - Water Division, provides water for about 42,000 residents living in the area of Newport, Rhode Island. Established in 1784, the City of Newport Water System is currently obtaining its supply from interconnected surface water sources: North and South Easton Pond, Paradise, Gardiner, St. Mary’s, Sisson, Lawton Valley, Nonquit, and Watson Reservoirs.
