The Providence Water, through PWSB (Providence Water Supply Board), Rhode Island’s largest water utility, provides water for about 308,500 residents living in the Providence area. Established in 1636, the Providence Water’s main source of supply is the Scituate Reservoir, the terminal reservoir in a network of six interconnected reservoirs: the Scituate Reservoir, Regulating Reservoir, Barden Reservoir, Ponaganset Reservoir, Westconnaug Reservoir, and Moswansicut Reservoir.
