The Sheridan City Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 15,500 residents living in Sheridan, a city in Sheridan County, Wyoming and located halfway between Yellowstone Park and Mount Rushmore by U.S. Route 14 and 16. Established in 1888, the Sheridan City Water System currently draws surface water supply from Big Goose Creek and a supplement supply from the Twin Lakes Reservoir during peak use times.
