Cody has multiple water providers: City Of Cody Utilities and Northwest Water District. This page provides information about Northwest Water District.

The Northwest Rural Water District supplies water to about 7,330 residents of Cody, Powell, Lovell, Garland, Deaver, and Frannie Cities in Park and Big Horn Counties, Wyoming. Northwest Rural Water District collects water from the Shoshone Municipal Pipeline (SMP) treatment Plant at the base of Cedar Mountain near Cody, which draws from Buffalo Bill Reservoir, including the drainage of the North Fork and South Fork of the Shoshone River. The water is treated through coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection and potable water is delivered to the customers.
