The City of Casper Water, under the City Department of Utilities, provides water for about 58,343 residents living in the area of Casper, Wyoming. Established in 1889, the City of Casper Water Utilities is currently obtaining its supply via purchase of wholesale water from the Central Wyoming Regional Water System. This water comes from two sources: 70% groundwater pumped from the North Platte River alluvial aquifer via 29 wells; and 30% surface water drawn from the North Platte North Platte River.
