The Township of Bloomfield Water, under the Township Department of Public Works & Park Maintenance Department, provides water for about 47,315 residents living in the area of Bloomfield, New Jersey. Established in 1812, the Bloomfield Water System is currently obtaining its supply via purchase from the City of Newark, which uses water from the Pequannock Watershed in West Milford. Newark Water can also receive water from North Jersey District Water Supply Commission (NJDWSC), which is surface water from the Wanaque Reservoir.
