The Township of Livingston Water Department provides water for about 27,391 residents living in the Livingston Township area, New Jersey. Established in 1813, the Livingston Township Water obtains its supply from 14 production wells located within the Township and water purchased from New Jersey American Water (NJAW). The water purchased from NJAW is a blend of sources that include groundwater from the Brunswick Shale Formations, the Buried Valley Aquifer System, the Gneiss Rock Formations, and surface water from the Canoe Brook Reservoirs, Passaic River, Raritan River and the Wanaque Reservoir.

WaterZen Rating

Lead levels in the drinking water of some cities across the United States are too high, potentially creating public-health issues for the people living in those areas.

What about Livingston Water? How much lead is in your drinking water? And how do those levels compare to other cities in the state? We examined data from hundreds of cities across the nation to understand and grade your water quality.

As you can see, Livingston Water received an average grade because the amounts of contaminants found in the water supply were higher than most other water providers we've analyzed.
