The City of Glendive Water, a public community water system under the Department of Public Works, provides water to about 5,500 residents living in Glendive, the county seat of Dawson County, Montana. Founded in 1916, the City of Glendive Water System currently obtains its surface supply from the Yellowstone River through an intake system to the treatment facility in Glendive. Consequently, the water treatment facility has four 1,750 GMP submersible pumps with a capacity of 14.4 million gallons per day.
