The County of Maui Department of Water Supply - Makawao System provides water for about 29,868 residents living in the Makawao area, Hawaii, including Haiku, Hailiimaile, Kokomo and Pukalani. Established in 1905, the County of Maui Department of Water Supply - Makawao System currently obtains its supply from a mix of sources: surface water from Wailoa Ditch, and groundwater from three active wells that draw from the Makawao aquifer sector area.
