Platte County Public Water Service District No. 4 is one of nine Platte County Rural Water Districts, a public community water system that provides water to about 7,086 residents living in Platte City, the county seat of Platte County, Missouri. Founded in 1843, Platte County Public Water Service District No. 4 System currently purchases its supply from KC Water of the City of Kansas. The Missouri River, the longest river in North America and the surface water source of KC Water rises in the rocky highlands of western Montana and empties into the Mississippi River close to St. Louis.
