The Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) - Primary service territory, a not-for-profit, community-owned water utility, provides water for about 311,932 residents living in the area of Reno-Sparks, Nevada. Established in 2000, the City of Truckee Meadows Water Authority is currently obtaining its supply from surface water sources, Lake Tahoe and the Truckee River system. TMWA also uses groundwater pumped from wells throughout the service territory.
