The Sun Valley General Improvement District, is a quasi-municipal entity established under Nevada Revised Statute, Chapter 318 and chartered to provide water, sewer, garbage, and recreation services for about 17,000 residents in Sun Valley, a census-designated place in Washoe County, Nevada. Established in 1967, the Sun Valley General Improvement District System currently purchases its surface water supply from Truckee Meadows Water Authority.
