The City of Carson Water, under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 56,000 residents living in the area of Carson, Nevada. Established in 1858, the City of Carson Public Works is currently obtaining its supply from a combination of sources: groundwater via 29 wells that pump water from the Carson, Dayton and Eagle Valleys Groundwater Basins; and surface water from Ash & Kings Canyon, Marlette/Hobart and Carson River. Carson City also purchases groundwater from the Town of Minden, Sunridge Booster.
