The City of Rochester Water, under the City Public Works Department, provides water for about 25,000 residents living in the Rochester area, New Hampshire. Established in 1891, the City of Rochester Water obtains its supply primarily from a surface water source, the Barry River Watershed, diverted and stored in both the Rochester Reservoir and Round Pond. Additionally, the City produces drinking water from the Cocheco Well treatment plant.
