Bath Water District is a quasi-municipal organization under the direct ownership of its customers and regulated by the Maine Public Utilities Commission. It provides water to about 9,487 residents living in Bath, a city in Sagadahoc County, Maine. Founded in 1887, the Bath Water District System currently obtains its supply from surface water intakes covering 21 square miles at Nequasset Lake in the town of Woolwich. Additionally, water collected from the lake is then pumped into the two tanks and approximately 50-mile pipe.
