Orono-Veazie Water District (OVWD), a private non-profit corporation under the Maine Public Utilities Commission, provides water to about 5,793 residents living in Orono, Penobscot County, Maine. Founded in 1976, the Orono-Veazie Water District System currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources, primarily four wells that drill into the aquifer underneath the area.
