The Bear Creek Water Association, a non-profit, member-owned, rural water association, provides water for about 24,090 residents living in the Canton area, Mississippi, including portions of the City of Ridgeland, City of Madison, and unincorporated areas of Madison County. Established in 1971, the Bear Creek Water Association obtains its supply from a groundwater source, wells drawing from the Cockfield Formation, Sparta Sand Aquifers.
