The Borough of Keyport Water supplies water to about 7,500 residents living in the Keyport area of Monmouth County. Keyport Water & Sewer Department collects water from wells that pump groundwater from the Middle Potomac-Raritan-Magothy Aquifer and the Upper Potomac-Raritan-Magothy Aquifer system and purchases water from the New Jersey American Water Shorelands System. Other water sources the Department supplies include the Swimming River, Shark River, Jumping Brook, and Glendola Reservoir. The water is treated with chlorine or chloramines to remove microbial contaminants before distributing it.
