The Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills Water, under the Town Department of Water Utility, provides water for about 50,400 residents living in the area of Parsippany, New Jersey. Established in 1928, the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills Water Department is currently obtaining its supply from a ground water source, 19 active wells throughout the Township that pump water from the Glacial Sand and Gravel Aquifer beneath Morris County. Also, Parsippany-Troy Hills purchases supplemental water from the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority and maintains emergency interconnections with the Boonton and Denville Townships and the Borough of Mountain Lakes.
