The Point Pleasant Water Department provides water for about 19,600 living in the Point Pleasant area. Established in 1886, the Point Pleasant Water Department collects water from four groundwater wells located within the City limits, in addition to the water purchased from the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority and New Jersey American Water. The Borough of Point Pleasant wells draw their water from the Kirkwood, Englishtown, and Raritan formations (aquifer). The Brick’s water is drawn from wells in Metedeconk River, while the New Jersey American Water comes from Englishtown and Raritan formations (aquifer) along with surface water from the Jumping Brook Treatment Plan.

WaterZen Rating

Lead levels in the drinking water of some cities across the United States are too high, potentially creating public-health issues for the people living in those areas.

What about Point Pleasant Water? How much lead is in your drinking water? And how do those levels compare to other cities in the state? We examined data from hundreds of cities across the nation to understand and grade your water quality.

As you can see, Point Pleasant Water received the best-possible grade because the amounts of contaminants found in the water supply were better than the Public Health Goal and most other water providers we've analyzed.
