Ringwood Water Department is a public community water system under the City's Water and Sewer Department of Public Works that provides water to about 9,327 residents living in Ringwood, a borough in Passaic County, New Jersey. Founded in 1918, the Ringwood Water Department System currently obtains its supply from a blend of sources. 88% is from groundwater sources, primarily four wells that drill into the aquifer underneath the Borough. These four wells are located in different areas: Well #9 is at Beattie Lane, Well #2 is at Valley Road, Well #3 is at Brooksyde Avenue, and the last Well #8 is at Cannici Drive. The remaining 12% is purchased surface water from the Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC), which draws from the Wanaque Reservoir and is treated by the North Jersey Water Supply Commission (NJDWSC) Water Treatment Plant in Wanaque.
