The Verona Water, a public community water system under the Township Department of Public Works - Water Supply Treatment & Distribution Division, provides water for about 13,641 residents living in the area of Verona, a township in Essex County, New Jersey. Established in 1907, the Verona Water System currently obtains its supply from a blend of sources, including groundwater wells that the Township owns and operates, and treated surface water purchased from the Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC). The well water is withdrawn from the Feltville aquifer via two deep rock wells located in Verona. The water from PVWC comes from the Wanaque Reservoir, owned and operated by the North Jersey District Water Supply Commission (NJDWSC) and located in Wanaque, New Jersey. PVWC can also provide water from their Little Falls Treatment plant located in Totowa, New Jersey, that utilizes water from the Passaic River and/or the Pompton River.

Lead Report (2021)

A

WaterZen Rating

Lead levels in the drinking water of some cities across the United States are too high, potentially creating public-health issues for the people living in those areas.

What about Verona Water? How much lead is in your drinking water? And how do those levels compare to other cities in the state? We examined data from hundreds of cities across the nation to understand and grade your water quality.

As you can see, Verona Water received the best-possible grade because the amounts of contaminants found in the water supply were better than the Public Health Goal and most other water providers we've analyzed.
