The Washington Township Municipal Utilities Authority (WTMUA), a public water and wastewater utility services agency, provides water for about 48,000 residents living in the area of Washington, New Jersey. Established in 1962, the Washington Township Municipal Utilities Authority is currently obtaining its supply from a combination of groundwater sources: 16 wells, eight of which draw from the Potomac-Raritan-Magothy Aquifer system (the P-R-M Aquifer), five in the Cohansey Aquifer, and three in the Mt. Laurel-Wenonah Aquifer.
