The Town of Shelburne Water supplies water to about 5,764 residents living in the Shelburne area of Chittenden County, VT. Shelburne Water Department purchases water from the Champlain Water District, which pumps from the Shelburne Bay Watershed made up of streams flowing from the Laplatte River, Potash Brook, North Brook, Munroe Brook, McCabes Brook, and Bartlett Brook. Before distribution, the water undergoes peroxidation, filtration, and disinfection to improve its quality.
