The City of Mccook Water supplies water to about 7,356 residents living in the Mccook area of Red Willow County. The City collects water from nine wells, located in the Republican River Valley Wellfield, which pump water to the Water Treatment Plant that uses an ion-exchange technique to soften the water and remove unwanted contaminants. The treated water is stored in a 4 million gallon Clear Well and distributed to the customers through water mains.
