The New Jersey American Water Company (NJAWC) – Shorelands District, a public community water system and a subsidiary of American Water (NYSE: AWK), provides water for about 36,164 residents living in the area of Hazlet Township, New Jersey. Established in 1886, the New Jersey American Water - Shorelands currently obtains its supply from a combination of sources: groundwater from seven wells in the Old Bridge and Farrington aquifers; and treated surface water from New Jersey American Water Company.
