Established in 1902, the Township of Nutley Water Department currently obtains its supply via purchase primarily from the Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC), which uses surface water sources, the Passaic and Pompton Rivers. While a small area of Nutley is served by the City of Newark with Pequannock Reservoir Water.
