The Borough of Harvey Cedars Water is a public community water system that supplies water to about 6,360 residents in the Harvey Cedars area of Ocean County. Harvey Cedars Water Department collects water from two wells drawing from the Atlantic City “800-foot” Sand Aquifer System and the Kirkwood-Cohansey Water Table Aquifer System. Water is also purchased from the Barnegat Light Water Department and the Surf City Water Department. Before distribution, the water is disinfected with sodium hypo-chloride, aerated, filtered for iron removal, and treated with lime for pH adjustment.
