The Trenton Water Works, a division of the City of Trenton's Department of Public Works, provides water for about 225,000 residents living in the Trenton area. Established in 1800, the Trenton Water Works collects water drawn from Delaware River through an intake north of the Calhoun St. Bridge. Trenton Water Works also has arrangements to purchase ground water from Aqua NJ - Hamilton Square.
