The Tupelo Water System, under the City Department of Water and Lights, provides water for about 38,842 residents living in the area of Tupelo, Mississippi. Established in 1866, the Tupelo Water currently obtains its supply via the purchase of treated surface water from the Northeast Mississippi Regional Water District, which uses Tombigbee River.
