The City of Wayne Water supplies water to about 5,847 residents living in the Wayne area of Wayne County, including the Wayne State College in Nebraska. Water sources include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. Wayne Water Department operates six production wells, with two primary wells located north of the City and producing up to 1,200 gallons per minute. The water, treated at the wellfield with Fluoride ion, has a hardness range of 23 to 25 grains per gallon.
