The Burbank Water and Power (BWP) provides water for about 105,033 residents living in the Burbank area. Established in 1913, the Burbank City Water comes from three different sources: local groundwater from the San Fernando Valley Basin, imported surface water from the Colorado River, and the State Water Project as purchased from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD).
