The Aqua Pennsylvania (Aqua) - Roaring Creek Division, a subsidiary of Aqua America, Inc., provides water for about 43,000 residents living in the area of Shamokin, Pennsylvania. Established in 1886, the Aqua Pennsylvania - Roaring Creek Division System is currently obtaining its supply from a surface water source, the Roaring Creek watershed, which has three named tributaries: South Branch Roaring Creek, Lick Run, and Mill Creek; and groundwater from two wells that pump water from the aquifer beneath Northumberland.
