The Clearfield Municipal Authority, a public water supply services authority, provides water for about 14,000 residents living in the area of Clearfield, a borough in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. Established in 1882, the Clearfield Municipal Authority System currently obtains its supply from a blend of ground and surface water sources, including the Montgomery Run Reservoir, Moose Creek Reservoir, and Well No. 3. These sources are supplemented during drought conditions by three additional wells that draw from the Rockwell Sandstone Formation.
