The Municipal Authority of The Borough of Bedford (MABB), a public community water system under the local government's Water and Sewer Services Department, provides water to about 5,127 residents living in Bedford, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1795, the Municipal Authority of The Borough of Bedford System currently obtains its supply from surface water sources: two reservoirs located West of the Borough of Bedford—Todd Spring and J.C. Smith—as well as the Juniata River's Raystown Branch, where the intake is situated close to Wolfsburg, to the northwest of the Borough of Bedford. Furthermore, MABB has reservoirs and interconnections with the Bedford Township Municipal Authority's water system that can be utilized during emergencies.
