The Stillwater Water Plant provides water for about 40,000 residents living in the Stillwater area. Established in 1889, the Stillwater Water Plant collects water from a surface water source, the Kaw Lake. The Kaw Lake supplies billions of gallons of clean drinking water not only to the Stillwater citizens, but also to five rural water districts, and several mobile home communities in Payne and Noble Counties.
