The Huron Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Water and Sewer, provides water for about 13,380 residents living in the area of Huron, a city in and county seat of Beadle County, South Dakota. Established in 1883, Huron Water System currently obtains its supply from a blend of sources, primarily a surface water source via the Mid-Dakota Rural Water System, which uses Oahe Reservoir on the Missouri River, and groundwater from six local wells that pump from the Warren Aquifer underneath the city.
