Kingbrook Rural Water System, Inc.-Phase I, a private community water system with a vast network of pipelines, meters, ground storage reservoirs, filtration plants, and supply wells, provides water to about 6,077 residents living in Arlington, Brookings, and Kingsbury counties, South Dakota. Founded in 1981, Kingbrook Rural Water System, Inc.-Phase I System currently obtains its supply from Brookings-Deuel Rural Water System, which draws water from two sources: first, from north of Bruce, which drills into the Big Sioux Aquifer, and second, from northeast of Clear Lake, which draws water from the Prairie Coteau Aquifer and the Pleistocene Aquifer.
