The Monroe Municipal Utilities Authority (MMUA) provides water for about 26,179 residents living in the area of Monroe, New Jersey. Established in 1957, the Monroe Municipal Utilities Authority currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources: six wells that draw water from the Cohansey Aquifer, two wells in the Piney Point Aquifer, and two Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) wells that pump from the Potomac-Raritan-Magothy (PRM) Aquifer.
