The Rockaway Borough Water Department, a public community water system under the Department of Public Works, provides water to about 7,066 residents living in Rockaway Borough, in the northern portion of Morris County, New Jersey. Founded in 1894, the Rockaway Borough Water Department System currently obtains water from groundwater sources, primarily three groundwater wells as well as one backup well that draws from the Quaternary Aquifer in the Upper Rockaway Watershed.
