The Rockaway Township Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works – Municipal Utility Water Division, provides water for about 14,000 residents living in the area of Rockaway, a borough in Morris County, New Jersey. Established in 1894, the Rockaway Township Water System currently operates three groundwater treatment plants and obtains its supply from groundwater wells that draw from the Stratified Drift Aquifer. In addition, Rockaway buys water in bulk from the Town of Dover on a daily basis to supplement the Fleetwood Pressure zone as needed.
