Dickinson has multiple water providers: City Of Dickinson Water and Southwest Water. This page provides information about Southwest Water.

The Southwest Water Authority supplies water to about 8,537 residents living in the Dickinson area in Stark County. Founded in 1991, Southwest Water obtains surface water from Lake Sakakawea in the Missouri River basin into the Zap Reservoirs where chlorine and ammonia are added to kill microbial contaminants. The water, stored in Richardton and Dickinson Reservoirs, is pumped to the Water Treatment Plant for clarification, softening, stabilization, filtration, and disinfection.
