The Suez Water New Jersey - Franklin Lakes supplies water to about 5,000 residents in the Franklin Lakes area of Bergen and Hudson Counties. The Franklin Lakes Water System receives water through the Shadow Ridge Booster Tank and Pump Station. The water is a blend of surface water and groundwater from the Haworth Water Treatment Plant, a part of the New Jersey Hackensack System, and the Wyandotte well. The Haworth WTP receives water from the Oradell Reservoir, Woodcliff Lake on the Pascack Brook, and Lake Tappan and Lake DeForest reservoirs on the upper or freshwater part of the Hackensack River. The Oradell Reservoir feeds from the Hackensack River and the Pascack Brook. Treatment processes involve purification with ozone, sedimentation, the addition of corrosion inhibitors, filtration, and chlorination. The Water Department also obtains water from Boonton and Monksville reservoirs through Interconnections with other water systems, including the City of Jersey City, New York operations in Rockland County, the Park Ridge Water Department, the Passaic Valley Water Commission, Ridgewood Water, and the North Jersey District Water Supply Commission in the Wanaque South Project.
