The City and Borough of Juneau Water Utility, under the City and Borough Department of Public Works, provides water for about 38,526 residents living in the area of Juneau, Alaska. Established in 1881, the City and Borough of Juneau Water Utility currently obtains its supply from both groundwater and surface water sources: groundwater wells that pump from the Last Chance Basin (LCB) wellfield in the Gold Creek watershed, and surface water drawn from the Salmon Creek (SC) Reservoir.
