Lewes Board of Public Works is a public community water system governed by a duly elected five-member Board of Public Works that provides water to about 9,400 residents living in Lewes, an incorporated city on the Delaware Bay in eastern Sussex County, Delaware. Founded in 1901, the Lewes Board of Public Works System currently obtains water from groundwater sources, primarily five wells that drill into the unconfined Columbia Group–Pocomoke aquifer underneath the area.
